I have added category Atom feeds, so it is now possible to only get notified about new articles in a certain category. So if you are interested in Pandora stuff only, you could use the Pandora category feed. You'll find the feed links on each category page right below the headline.

This change was necessary due to the huge daily amount of new articles here. ;)

About a year ago I switched from my custom php based website system to Wordpress. Unfortunately, in the end I was not really happy with Wordpress. While its features and the user interface are pretty nice, its performance is everything but great. It consumes lots of memory and thus tends to be really slow when the server is busy.

That's why I decided to write my own blog software. As you may have noticed the visual appearance of the website is almost identical to the Wordpress-based site. The system running this site now is entirely different though. I have chosen to write it in C, which is rather unusual for web applications. This way the entire system uses a lot less memory and runs much faster than Wordpress.

Although this website is everything but new - it just turned 10 years old - there is something new: I've just switched from my old website system to WordPress. My old system wasn't really bad, but I wanted to try something different after all. I've developed the old system many years ago and added only a few things over time. Now the time has come to try something new. A decision had to be made between writing a new system on my own and using an existing one. As you know already, I chose the second option.

I'll try to update the website a little more frequently than before. I won't promise anything though. ;)
